Caveat emptor - this is one very sour lemon. Well after following all the instructions for installing the software and connecting the player we tried to put some music on it and it flipped out - started connecting/disconnecting to the usb nonstop. We bought this MP3 player for my mother as a birthday gift because she's been using my smaller capacity older MuVo for a few months. We were so excited to see her getting into "gadgets" so we sprang for what we thought would be a nice upgrade. Nothing we could do after 3 support sessions with Creative could make it work so we have returned it.
It offers low quality voice recording which means the file size is very small - that completely suits my purpose since I need only the rough sketches to be recorded as WAV and not clutter the disk space with stupid mp3 encodings which take up a lot of space. Same feeling when I open it up for a thumb drive usage. Currently it is flimsy.3. There is no WAV playing option as far as I can remember in the 'regular' folders. Some things I would like to add :1. I can't understand how the price can get doubled when all the electronics prices are supposed to fall.6. Every time I open the battery compartment to replace the battery, I feel the the door is going to fail.
Logan's review. This also helps me to record various things like classes and technical conversations without much ado.4. This option is available only in the 'recorded tracks' folder. this seems strange to me. The current price is $99.99. I am a composer and it is important for me to have my humming recorded whenever and wherever I get inspired. It would make sense if it did not recognize at all or recognized in all folders.5. The most useful feature of this player is the AAA battery.
I bought this for $49.99 Sep 2007. I have had this player for almost 1.5 years. But that has not happened.2.
This is a perfect piece for that. It is a waste of computer resources as well. I am a pretty forgetful person and having a bunch of AAA batteries is more convenient for me than remember to put things on charge through a computer every night.
I agree completely with D. The mechanical construction could be a bit better. Why would the player recognize the WAV files only if it is in a particular folder.
i paid $35 + $5 shipping at amazon. sound is very good, i really like this one. i see amazon has it for $124 and $29 shipping (are they nuts).
Creative's own MuVo T200 and Sansa Express neither of which has folder navigation on device which make them pretty much impossible to use without creating playlists on PC for every folder. Never ever worry about recharging. The only thing that I really wish it could have is player list creation on the device. Their controls (esp. -- Simply plug it in a USB port in your car stereo; TV; etc. And Samsung U3 is simply an absolute disaster with horrible hardware design and even more horrible software. I've tried a few other USB stick players now on the market and they fail in comparison.
T200) are also rather inconvenient. It's a pretty old model by now (Dec'08); it has served me well for several years -- now after having accidentally destroyed it I have still not found one that comes anywhere close in features and convenience.Critical points include:- a USB stick form factor: -- No cables to lose. & listen- It's a mass storage device -- No confusing synchronization software needed; it just works -- can use it to carry files around- Folder navigation on the player- Great controls: intuitive; ergonomic; never pressed by accident- A generic AAA battery lasts approximately forever. In contrast: on V100 all you need to do is to copy files over -- no worrying about tags; no time wasted creating playlists where none are needed.
With 2GBs of memory it's really adequate for my needs. I like the convienience of using standard AAA batteries instead of an internal power source. Once I got the hang of this little device, I was hooked. I use it mostly for foreign language programs. I switched to rechargeable AAAs so I don't have to keep buying the disposable ones.
